Over 180 customers collectively manage in excess of £700 million of annual search spend via Marin's application. Customers include University of Phoenix, Neo@Ogilvy, Razorfish, Reply! and ZipRealty. Christopher Lien
Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Chris is an accomplished Internet entrepreneur. Most recently he served as Chief Operating Officer of Adteractive, a leading online performance marketing company. In 2001 he co-founded Sugar Media, a broadband services platform, which was sold to 2Wire, a leading supplier of DSL equipment and services. Sugar Media’s technology powers AT&T’s Homezone digital media service. Prior to founding Sugar Media, Chris was the CFO and ultimately CEO of BlueLight.com, Kmart’s e-commerce and Internet service provider subsidiary. Prior to Bluelight.com, Chris spent 10 years executing merger and financing transactions at leading firms, including Morgan Stanley and Evercore Partners. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa (member of high academic achievement) and magna cum laude from Dartmouth College and earned an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Peter Wooster
Executive Vice President, Global Sales
Peter has extensive on-demand technology sales experience. Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales for Angel Points Inc., an innovative workforce management application for Fortune 100 companies. Peter spent over 5 years at Salesforce.com. He was a founding member of the sales organisation and the first account executive for Strategic Accounts in the Enterprise Group. At Paychex Corporation, a HR and payroll process software company, Peter served as sales representative for major markets. Peter graduated from Ohio University.
Wister Walcott
Co-Founder and EVP of Products and Professional Services
Wister is responsible for product management and professional services at Marin, which leverage his combined experience in designing, integrating, and deploying enterprise software. Prior to Marin, Wister led multiple teams at Siebel Systems (now Oracle), where he founded the Employee Relationship Management product line and grew it to $30MM. Prior to Siebel, Wister worked at Oracle, where he held a variety of technical and management positions. Wister is an experienced speaker and acknowledged expert on online marketing topics. He holds degrees in computer science and business from Harvard University.
Joseph Chang
Co-Founder and Vice President of Engineering
Joe leverages enterprise software experience with startup pragmatism in leading Marin's engineering team. As Vice President of Information Systems at W.P. Carey, a publicly-traded real estate investment firm, he conceived and delivered custom front-and-back-office solutions to support WPC's
growth. At Mercer Consulting, he led development for the eBusiness group, which provided an e-commerce platform for the firm and its offices in over 40 countries. Prior to Mercer, Joe helped start companies such as BlueLight.com, where he was Director of Development, and jcrew.com, where he helped create one of the web's first e-tailers. He started his career at Trilogy
Software, providing solutions for Gartner, SGI, and Sun. Joe is a graduate of Stanford University, with degrees in Engineering Management and Computer Science.
Ed Stevenson
Managing Director - Europe
Bringing with him over 10 years of senior management experience in rapidly developing online and media businesses, Ed Stevenson joins Marin Software in 2009 as Managing Director – Europe. He currently leads Marin’s London office. Ed joins Marin having most recently served as WPP’s GroupM Director of Search Operations. WPP is the world’s largest buyer of search and GroupM is their digital division. Prior to that position, Ed helped build and then ran the UK search business of 24/7 Real Media which WPP purchased in May 2007 for approximately $650 million. In that role he was tasked with establishing sales channels and generating new leads for its search business unit. His success in the role saw him promoted to the position of Director of Search in October 2005, where he was responsible for a team of 18. Ed helped position 24/7 Real Media as a global full-service search marketing agency and was instrumental in new product developments and taking sales processes to a global level. Before joining 24/7 Real Media, Ed had had commercial roles in several companies such as Nomadic Display.

Ram Gupta
Chief Technology Officer
Gupta brings nearly two decades of progressive IT management and software development experience to Marin Software. Mostly recently, Gupta directed the production operations management of Yahoo!'s IT systems distributed in multiple data centres around the globe to support the search engine's advertiser, search and social networking applications serving all of Yahoo's advertisers and Internet search users worldwide. Prior to Yahoo!, Gupta spent 10 years at Oracle where he held the position of Senior Director of Software Development and IT in the Oracle Application Division. Gupta holds a Masters' degree in computer applications from Indian Institute of Technology in Delhi, India.
Cory Lund
Vice President of Strategic Accounts
For the last 15 years, Cory served as President of San Francisco-based Triadigm Technology, a technology firm focused on developing mission critical, SME (Small/Medium Enterprise) web solutions. During his
tenure, Triadigm delivered several hundred broadband, digital media and LAN/WAN/ASP/ web-based applications. Cory was also the inventor of ContentPath®, a middleware framework and content management system which has been deployed with hundreds of customers for use in social networking, commerce/retail, advertising, affiliate marketing, mobile technology, streaming & broadband media, user community, intranet and portal applications. Cory began his career with Andersen Consulting and has worked with leading firms including IBM, DEC and Pioneer. Cory graduated from Northwestern University with honours in Engineering.
Matt Underwood
Director of Finance
Bringing over 15 years of experience in accounting and finance, Matt leads Marin’s accounting/finance team. Prior to joining Marin Software, Matt was employed with Frank, Rimerman LLP as Accounting Services Manager. There he successfully created, developed and managed the accounting systems and reporting needs for venture-backed companies such as YouTube, Adbrite, Peakstream and One True Media. Prior to Frank, Rimerman LLP, Matt held a diverse selection of accounting/finance positions including positions with: Hewlett Packard, Franklin Templeton, and SZ Testsysteme (as VP of Finance and Administration). While successfully managing the accounting/finance responsibilities in multiple industries, he has also managed IT, HR, and Sales Order Management functions. Matt is a graduate of the University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Finance.
Sirous Wadia
Vice President of Accounts
As head of Marin Software’s client services division, Sirous Wadia oversees the Account Management and Client Services Operations teams, together comprised of over twenty individuals. Sirous brings to Marin extensive global marketing and sales expertise, most recently from VMWare, Inc., one of the fastest growing software companies in history, where he managed strategic sales programs and training for enterprise-class global sales. Prior to that position, Sirous was a Global Partner Development Manager for Sun Microsystems where he was a three-time recipient of Sun’s top performance award. Sirous holds an MBA from Santa Clara University and a BS in Psychobiology from UCLA.
Matt Lawson
Vice President of Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing for Marin Software, Matt is responsible for worldwide branding, demand generation, and product marketing. Matt brings over 9 years of digital and product marketing experience to Marin. Prior to Marin, Matt ran marketing and business development for Spock Networks, a venture backed people search engine, helping launch the company and growing it to over 11 Million monthly unique users. Previously, Matt held marketing and product leadership positions at Coremetrics, one of the early innovators in web analytics and paid search marketing. At Coremetrics Matt oversaw marketing automation solutions which contributed to the company's growth in revenues from $6 Million to $45 Million over a 4 year period. Matt holds a Computer Science degree from Princeton University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Russell Wirth
Vice President, Sales
As Vice President, Sales Russell Wirth oversees both the brand direct and the agency sales teams responsible for signing new revenue in North America. Russell brings over 20 years experience ramping up growth and market penetration for mid-stage companies in new information, media and analytics segments. Most recently Russell was running sales at several SaaS companies including Overtone, a social media analytics solution and PopularMedia a viral marketing optimization platform. Previously, as Vice President of Sales at Coremetrics, Russell oversaw revenue growth for this Web Analytic leader from $4 to $45 million and an increase in customers from 100 to over 1,000 in a 4 year period. Earlier in his career, Russell also served as VP of Business Development at IRI Software, a Nielson competitor, and headed up Western Regional sales in Business Intelligence with Crystal Decisions. Russell graduated with honors from Colorado College with an degree in Business / Economics.

Bruce Dunlevie
General Partner, Benchmark Capital
Bruce is a seasoned veteran of venture capital with more than 18 years experience in high-tech investing. Prior to Benchmark, Bruce spent 6 years as a general partner with Merrill, Pickard, Anderson & Eyre (MPAE). Before MPAE, Bruce served as General Manager of the Personal Computer Division of Everex Systems, which he founded and grew to a multi-hundred-million-dollar business unit. Bruce also worked in investment banking for 3 years at Goldman, Sachs & Co. and as a systems designer and programmer with Andersen Consulting.

Bruce received a BA from Rice University and MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was an Arjay Miller Scholar. He is a former director of the Western Association of Venture Capitalists.
Donald Hutchison
Investor and Advisor
Don advises and invests in new products and services intended to systemically enhance productivity and efficacy within existing, meaningfully-sized markets. In the recent past, Don co-founded Recurrent Energy and saw successful acquisitions of several portfolio companies, including: Sugar Media, TravelPost, Trovix and WWCOMs. Other current board roles include: Collarity, Fliqz, Goodmail Systems & InterSchola.
Previously, Don was a principal who helped grow @Home (later Excite@Home), from concept to broadband industry leader, serving as Senior Vice President and formative General Manager for the business focused @Work division. His team rapidly built @Work, a separate P&L, into a leading provider of internetworking services, generating over $40M in annual revenues and contributing over one third of @Home’s revenues.
Prior to @Home, Don drove Netcom Communications’ rise to prominence as a pioneering Internet service provider to consumers and businesses. As SVP for Sales and Marketing, he led revenue growth from $2MM to over $120MM between 1994 and 1996. With the company founder and CFO, he successfully marketed the company’s December 1994 public offering, making Netcom the first ‘pure-play’ Internet venture to go public. Other recognition included the American Marketing Association's "Marketing Achievement" award for Best New Product Launch and multiple "World Class" awards from PC World. During these years, Don also invested in and advised other internet ventures, including Critical Path (IPO), Exodus (IPO), Raindance Communications (IPO) and Zengine (IPO). Don earned his Bachelors' degree from UC Santa Barbara (Economics) and his MBA from Loyola Marymount University (Finance & Organizational Development).
